The Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line is up for grabs with a massive discount of up to Rs. 3 lakh, just three months after its launch. Introduced in April 2025 at Rs. 49 lakh (ex-showroom), the premium SUV is now available at an effective price of Rs. 46 lakh, including cash discounts, exchange bonuses, and corporate benefits.
Despite being a well-equipped five-seater SUV with a 2.0-litre, TSI petrol engine that produces 201bhp and 320Nm, the sales of the Tiguan R-Line have reportedly been slow. The vehicle comes with a seven-speed DSG, 4Motion AWD, and claims a zero to 100kmph sprint in just over seven seconds. However, in a segment dominated by diesel-powered and seven-seater rivals, its appeal has been limited.
The Tiguan R-Line boasts several premium features, including a 12.9-inch touchscreen, 10.3-inch digital cockpit, matrix LED headlamps, ambient lighting, and a Level 2 ADAS suite with 21 assist functions. It also gets nine airbags, panoramic sunroof, and ventilated massage seats.

Volkswagen brought the Tiguan R-Line as a CBU (Completely Built Unit), which pushed its pricing above most competitors. That said, its hot hatch sibling, the Golf GTI, priced at Rs. 53 lakh (ex-showroom), has been a hit, with the first batch completely sold out.
With this price correction, the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line is a VFM offering in the premium SUV segment. Whether this strategy helps revive demand, remains to be seen. For buyers prioritising refinement, safety, and AWD performance in a five-seater format, the Tiguan now makes a stronger case than before.
