August will bring a packed new–launch calendar in India. The key launches include the Volvo XC60 facelift, Mercedes‑AMG CLE 53 Coupe, and two electric SUVs from VinFast, joined by major concept reveals from Mahindra.
Volvo XC60 Facelift
The Volvo XC60 facelift will be launched in India on 1 August. It will feature a revised front grille, smoked tail‑lights, new alloys and fresh exterior colours. Inside, the cabin will integrate a larger 11.2‑inch touchscreen powered by a faster Snapdragon processor. The powertrain will remain the familiar 2.0‑litre petrol-hybrid unit with 250bhp and four‑wheel‑drive paired with an eight‑speed automatic gearbox.
Mahindra Concepts
In parallel, Mahindra will host a major reveal of four SUV concepts on 15 August, showcasing its new ‘Nu’ platform. The Vision T previews a future Thar‑family SUV; Vision S is tied to an upcoming Scorpio variant; Vision SXT and Vision X are expected to preview new body‑styles for Mahindra’s SUV families. These models are expected to support internal‑combustion, hybrid and electric powertrains.
Mercedes-AMG CLE 53
On 12 August, Mercedes‑AMG CLE 53 Coupe will debut in the country. It is powered by a 3.0‑litre twin‑turbo inline‑six producing 449bhp, with drive sent to all four wheels through a nine‑speed dual‑clutch gearbox. Mercedes has added AMG‑specific details like a Panamericana grille, quad exhaust outlets, and 19‑inch alloy wheels. The cabin includes an 11.9‑inch touchscreen, 12.3‑inch digital dash, Alcantara steering, wireless connectivity, powered seats and ambient lighting.
Vinfast VF 6 and VF 7
Towards the end of August, VinFast will launch VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs in India. The VF 7 is a mid‑size EV offering a front wheel drive configuration, sourcing power from a 70.8kWh battery. The compact VF 6 is powered by a 59.6 kWh pack driving a single 204bhp front motor with an estimated range of 440km. The standard features for both cars are likely to include a 12.9‑inch touch display, ventilated seats, reclining rear seats, seven airbags, and Level 2 ADAS. The pre-bookings began mid‑July for Rs. 21,000, and deliveries will begin soon after the launch.
