Kia's new Carens Clavis EV doesn’t just offer a more environmentally friendly form of driving, but it also brings a host of features that set it apart from the ICE version. If you are considering this all-electric MPV, here are five features that are unique to the EV version.
Paddle Shifters for Regenerative Braking
Unlike traditional paddle shifters that control gear shifts, the Carens Clavis EV uses them to adjust regen levels. Drivers can adjust how aggressively the car slows down when lifting off the accelerator, which is especially useful in city traffic.

Floating Centre Console
The ICE version gets a traditional gear lever, which is built into the centre console. But here, instead of a gear lever, you get a floating centre console, because the gear selector has been moved to the steering column. It not only looks cool, but also frees up space. You also get an additional storage area with a sliding cover.

Frunk
With no engine under the hood, Kia has added a 25-litre front trunk, or 'frunk'. It’s ideal for storing small bags, charging cables, or even groceries. This kind of space optimisation is only possible in the EV, and is particularly useful for families.

EV-specific Digital Graphics and Aero Upgrades
The digital cluster on the Carens Clavis EV features unique graphics tailored to electric driving, battery level, range estimate, and more. Additionally, the EV sports active air flaps and aerodynamic wheels to reduce drag and improve efficiency.

Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) Capability
One of the standout features of the Carens Clavis EV is its Vehicle-to-Load functionality. This allows users to power external devices using the car’s battery, which is perfect for outdoor activities or emergencies. This feature is likely to be a major draw for tech-savvy users.
