- New HTM trim
- Based on the HTK+ 42kWh variant
Kia India recently launched the Carens Clavis EV. A fleet-spec version of the electric MPV is in the works. Likely to arrive in the ‘HTM’ trim, the same is based on its base HTK+ 42kWh variant. Essential taxi-specific features like a speed governor (electronic speed limiter that limits the top speed to 80kmph) and a GPS tracker will be bundled as standard.
Externally, the Carens Clavis EV HTM will get LED headlights and DRLs, and 16-inch Aero alloys. Internally, there will be a dual-tone interior, second row with slide and recline functions, double D-cut steering, shift-by-wire, dual 12.25-inch cluster, cruise control, speed limit assist, i-pedal tech, and front parking sensors.
The Carens Clavis EV HTM will carry over the same mechanicals from the HTK+ 42kWh variant. This 99kW motor is tuned to churn out 255Nm torque, and the battery capacity stands at 42kWh (NMC). A quick top-up from 10 to 80 per cent takes 39 minutes. This particular trim may command a premium of about Rs. 30,000 over the HTK+, which currently bears an ex-showroom tag of Rs. 17.99 lakh.
