Hyundai India introduced the Creta Electric in January this year, with prices starting at Rs. 17.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The Mahindra BE 6 and Tata Curvv EV rival is available with two battery pack options across 10 colours and five variants.

The top-spec Excellence variant of the Creta Electric was subjected to our test regime. This variant is powered by a 51.4kWh battery pack, paired with a single, FWD electric motor. The power output stands at 169bhp and 255Nm, and a claimed range of 473km on a single charge. The lower variants get a 42kWh unit, and you can get into its finer details on our website.
The Hyundai Creta EV range rest, as per the CarWale protocols, commenced by setting the AC temperature between 21 and 23 degrees, while the driver seat ventilation was set to Level 1. The drive mode was set to normal, while the fan speed varied between 1 and 2. The car was then put to the test in the city for the major part of the run, followed by a sprint on the highway.

All things said and done, the Creta Electric managed to return a range of 407km before the battery ran out of juice, thus achieving 86 per cent of its claimed range as per the MIDC P1 + P2 cycle.
