• The 2026 CLA gets a striking design makeover, borrowing cues from the Vision Concept and larger EQ models.
• The sleek coupe-like silhouette remains, but now wears a more sculpted front fascia with a star-patterned grille, sharp LED headlamps, and a low-slung bonnet. Flush door handles, aero-optimised wheels, and a connected LED light bar at the rear round off its futuristic stance.
• Inside, the cabin is minimal yet premium, dominated by Mercedes' new-generation Superscreen, a single curved glass panel that merges the digital driver’s display, central infotainment, and passenger screen.
• Recycled materials are extensively used across the cabin to enhance sustainability. Expect ambient lighting, turbine-style AC vents, and a tech-heavy layout that prioritises digital controls over physical buttons.

• Globally, the CLA will be offered with a variety of powertrains. The headline act is the all-electric CLA EV, which uses an 800V electrical system and promises ultra-fast DC charging and a claimed WLTP range of up to 750km.
• It uses a single rear-mounted motor with outputs expected to range between 200bhp and 300bhp, depending on the variant.
• Additionally, Mercedes will offer ICE versions with 48V mild-hybrid tech and a PHEV option with an electric-only range of around 100km.
• All powertrains will be mated to a new-generation dual-clutch automatic transmission, with the electric versions expected to offer multiple drive modes and regenerative braking levels.
• India is likely to receive both ICE and EV versions.

The new CLA pushes the boundaries of in-cabin tech for this segment. Key highlights include:

• Superscreen infotainment layout powered by the new MB.OS
• Google-integrated services for maps, voice control, and smart assistant
• Over-the-air (OTA) software updates
• Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
• Wireless charging pad and multiple USB-C ports
• Dual-zone climate control
• Keyless entry and connected car functions with remote monitoring

Top-spec trims could also offer seat heating/ventilation, panoramic sunroof, and advanced voice command functionality.

Mercedes-Benz is expected to load the CLA with the latest generation of its ADAS suite, including:

• Adaptive cruise control
• Lane keep assist
• Blind spot detection
• Autonomous emergency braking
• Driver attention monitor
• Traffic sign recognition

Other standard safety kits will include multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, ISOFIX child-seat mounts, and a 360-degree camera. Higher trims may also feature semi-autonomous driving assistance, rear cross-traffic alert, and enhanced parking aids.
