Positives:

• The Exter gets a voice-enabled electric sunroof, climate control, rear AC vents, and a cooled glove box for convenience.

• The cabin is spacious, with ample headroom, legroom, and knee room, even for taller passengers.

• Passengers will enjoy the comfort offered by the semi-leatherette upholstery and ample space.

• It is packed with tech features, including a fully digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charging, and an eight-inch infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

• It also has keyless entry, Type-C USB charger, and cruise control, enhancing usability for a wider audience.

• The 391-litre boot is spacious, accommodating three cabin-sized bags and some shopping bags, handbags, or laptop bags.

Negatives:

• The Exter doesn’t have a split-folding rear seat, limiting flexibility when loading larger items into the boot.
• The absence of a driver’s armrest affects comfort, especially during long drives.

Positives:

• Six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, three-point seatbelts (all seats), and emergency braking stop signal come as standard across all variants.
• Safety features like Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), and Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC) add to the overall security.
• Features like a tyre pressure monitoring system, rear camera with dynamic guidelines, and a dashcam further boost safety in higher variants.

Negatives:

• It has not yet received any crash test safety rating from the NCAP authorities.
• Some of the advanced safety features, such as ESC and HAC, are only available in higher variants.
• The Exter lacks ADAS functionalities, which are becoming more common nowadays. 

Positives:

• Has H-shaped LED DRLs with projector headlamps and a unique front grille that makes it stand out.

• The design is complemented by 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, painted black rear spoiler, and roof-rails.

• Stylish interiors with footwell lighting, semi-leatherette upholstery, and contrasting inserts enhance the premium feel.

• The Exter is available in attractive mono-tone and dual-tone colour options, including standout shades like Ranger Khaki and Starry Night.
• The Knight Edition has an all-black exterior and interior theme with red highlights on the bumpers along with red colour for the brake callipers, footwell lighting, and seat stitching.

Negatives:

• Although subjective, we think the Exter tries too hard to look like an SUV.
• Some will find the use of hard plastics in certain areas of the cabin to be less premium.
• Unlike other Hyundai models, the absence of brushed silver accents inside lowers aesthetics.
